Noteson

The meeting copilot only you can see

Noteson hears the other people in your meeting through your Mac’s audio and writes a short, natural answer in a window that never shows up in screen shares.

Heard: “How did you handle a transaction sent twice?”

Delivery is at-least-once, so I made processing idempotent. Each transaction carries a client key, and a unique constraint turns any retry into a no-op that returns the original result.

The answer window floats over your call, on your screen only.

How Noteson helps during a meeting

Noteson listens to the meeting

It hears the call through your Mac’s audio, never your microphone, so it only answers what you’re asked.

Listening

When a question lands, the answer is already there

Short, first-person answers in about four seconds. Coding question on screen? Press ⌘⇧S for tested code.

Heard: “What’s the difference between launch and async?”

It’s what they return. launch gives back a Job with no result, so I use it for fire-and-forget work. async returns a Deferred I await, so I use it when I need a value or two calls in parallel.

Software Engineer meeting — debrief

How it went

Strong, concise answers across Git, CI and APIs; the host agreed with almost every one. Two Bash details were off and wouldn’t survive a follow-up.

Question by question

  • Git branching strategyclean default, right exception
  • 401 versus 403correct, with retry policy
  • Capturing output with teewouldn't stream live
  • set -o pipefailreturns the last failure, not the first

Practice next

Shell error handling edge cases, and one CI incident told in under a minute.

Undetectable in every way

Help that never shows up on their side of the call.

Never joins the call. No bot, no extra participant. It runs quietly on your Mac and nothing appears on the guest list.

Noteson answer

Keep a seen set and check target - v on each pass. One loop, O(n) time, O(n) space.

Invisible to screen share. macOS leaves the window out of shared screens, recordings and screenshots.

Frequently asked questions

Can the others in the meeting see it?

Not through screen sharing, recordings or screenshots: macOS leaves the window out of every capture. A camera pointed at your screen would still see it.

Does it listen to me?

No. It only hears what your Mac plays, which is the other people in the meeting. To ask it something yourself, use the microphone button in the answer window.

How does it help with coding tests?

Press ⌘⇧S. For a long problem, scroll and press ⌘⇧S again within five seconds, or select the area with ⌘⇧A and scroll while holding. The solution is tested against a brute-force check before you see it, and written fresh in your own style.

Which AI writes the answers?

Claude or Gemini. You can pick a fast model for spoken answers and a deeper one for coding.

Do I need my own API key?

No. Your plan covers the AI. The desktop app only needs the access key from your dashboard.

Which Macs does it run on?

Apple silicon Macs on macOS 14 or later.
